If your teacher has asked you then, go for it. We always don't see ourselves as being good enough. But, teachers have the eye and they can see talent when it is there! So go go go for it!!!!

I definitely think you should go for it! You have been training for five years and this is your chance to show what you have learned and how you have developed as a dancer. Your teacher would not ask you to do a solo if he/she didnt think you are worth it. Depending on your level of technique, do what you feel most confident at. Do not attempt things on stage that you would not be able to do smoothly in class. While this can be seen as a good old challenge by others, it is far better to challenge yourself in class rather than challenge yourself on stage unsure if you can pull it off. You will not fool the audience...if you are not confident, they will not be confident in you either. You also dont want your nerves to interfere with your dancing! You must have fun and show people your talent so stick to what you are most confident doing but always push yourself to acheive new goals & take your technique to the next level. Remember that in dance, especially ballet, it is the quality, not quantity of the performace that wows an audience! Good luck and dont forget to have a great time! Keep in mind that this is a GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT!!

I think that you should go for it!! If your teacher thinks that you are go enough then you probably are! It would be a fun and wonderful experience to go out and have the stage all for yourself.

I remember my first dance solo. I was really scared at first, but when I got out there and started dancing I just tapped my little heart out!! (I am a tap, jazz, and hip-hop dancer).

It's scary at first but once you get out there, it is all worth it!!

I say go for it and have FUN!!

Heck yeah!!!!!!!!

Your teacher would not put you in a position of asking you to do something that you weren't ready for. Trust the process and go SOLO! You've earned it!

yes! By all means! Take the chance, embrace it. Life is all about dancing. I wish I had learned years ago, the absolute joy in dancing. I was always scared, nervous, self consious...now I dance anywhere, to any type of music, any style of dancing.
Congratualations! I am thrilled and I hope you feel honored!

If your teacher suggest to go solo, go for it. You obviously are very good, otherwise she wouldn't have asked you.
