Does anyone know how they cook the shrimp and scallops at a Japanese steak house? What ever they do to make them is the only way I enjoy eating them and would love to know how they make them!!

probably a marinade look up benny hanahs im sure thats not the spelling but they may have recipes on line or check the food channel on line tiger shrimp is good for this and also they call them prawns in australia and a lot of chinese chefs work there

Is it steamed, fried? sauteed? you have to tell us .....

TEMPURA

INGREDIENTS:
12 large shrimps
1 egg
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup cold water
Vegetable oil for frying
PREPARATION:
Remove heads and shells from shrimps without removing tails. Devein the shrimps. Make two or three incisions in the stomach sides of the shrimps to straighten them. Sift flour into a bowl. Pour cold water over the flour and add an egg.
Mix the batter lightly. Heat the oil to 340 degree. Dip the shrimps in the batter. Fry the shrimps for a few min.
Makes 4 servings

hi ,

well i am fan of shrimp dishes too..but i dont know if you would like my special recipe try this out i bet you will never stop wanting it!

ingredients:

12-14 tiger prawns or medium sized prawns cleaned and deveined and halved into 2

4-6 tbsp of chickpea flour (also known as besan in in hindi)
1tsp chilly powder
1/2 tsp of pepper powder
salt as per the need
1tbsp of rice flour
1/2 tsp of tumeric powder

method

now mix the flour with enough water and the rest of the ingredients except the prawns and make a thick batter just enough to dip the prawn ...then add salt accoroding to need and mix well meanwhile heat oil in a pan and then dip the prawns gently in the batter and fry it in hot oil let it fry till light golden brown and prawns cook really fast especially in frying ..so make sure you dont over cook it and make it feel like a rubber..!

serve it hot asa starter with ketchup
