it could be dry skin so switch to a sensitive moisturizer
or
it could be a residue from your face wash so you could rinse your face very well after you wash it
it don't know what the white stuff looks like, so i guess i can't help anymore
if it is a skin discoloration, a wait a week and if it doesn't go away, I would go to see a dermatologist.

maybe you should use some bay lotion taht is what i do JOHNSON & JOHNSON it works. And it getting time for the cold wether to move in so you really need it now or you will dry out fast. Just applyin the morning and in the middle of the day and some before you go to bed and it should HELP!!!!

use olive oil and vitamin E oil on your face. that's natural and healing. give it a try.
