after you wash your hair, towel dry and add mousse - look for one that helps refrain from the heat burning your hair. spray after the curling, it will help hold the mousse and curl in place without having the alcohol from the hairspray burning your hair before you curl - then just flip upside down, run your fingers through the curls so they are a little more loose and go! good luck

Product - lots of product! Try a root lifter, and a volumizing mousse or gel. I also spray with a strong hold hair spray. My hair is VERY fine, and very thin, plus pin straight. I have to work to get, and keep, any curl. These products have worked well for me with the curling iron.

I use so much stuff on my hair- I am surprised I have any left
But...
After a blowdry (using a moose and my fingers)- I tease it a little bit and then spray it upside down with a max hold hair spray. After I curl it- I give it another light spray. Then I tease it out- to brush it lightly and give a final spray.
I am sure this isn't good for my hair. But if I don't do all that- it lays flat on my head.

Dont use a curling iron, better to use non-heat rollers with setting lotion in damp hair and let it air dry before removing your rollers and placing your curls into place using your fingers.
Also hair that is dried into shape on rollers retains its curl for longer

I know, don't you just hate it when it does that? You need to apply hair spray.
