I'll skip the part about all the health checks that others have mentioned save the one about brucellosis - because if you skip that one, your stud will become infertile and won't be able to do his job any longer.
But I'm also going to touch on a few other things - like it's not your choice who to breed to. The owner of the female chooses who they want their girl bred to - and then they're going to say, "what makes THAT dog better than any of the others around?" and you have to really think what your dog does have to offer - if has had his health clearances, that's one thing you can say: "He has good hips/eyes/whatever" your breed should have. If he has competed in the show ring and done some winning, you can say: "He has won x times in the show ring." And so on.
Then you need to ask if you have any contacts of your own who will buy puppies. Many times the owner of the female will expect you to find buyers for half of the litter.
Then you need to decide what is a successful mating: is it one live puppy at the age of two weeks? is it two live puppies? What will you put into your agreement with the owner of the female? If there are no puppies, will you repeat the breeding or return their money? How many times? And so on.
There's so much more then just putting two dogs together. Please consider all of these factors before you breed.

First show him to his championship, then when he is 2 years old get his hips x-rayed and certified with OFA and/or PennHip,eyes CERF/PRA, thyroid test done and any other health tests pertinent to your breed, research your pedigree for health and longevity, seek out only dogs to mate with him that will make up for waht he lacks and whose pedigrees will compliment his, learn all you can about breeding practices, problems that can arise during mating, etc...make sure you are up to the responsability of responsible breeding and realize that you are as responsible for a litter being produced as the female owner is.

There is a lot of sites you can advertise stud service and one is http;//www.k9stud.com,but before you advertise this have your pet vet checked to make sure he is healthy, also have a brucilousis test done. Also you should require that all females you breed him to have the same test done and make sure all are up to date on all vaccinations/deworming.

Well, I am glad you don't want to breed him with males.
Unless he has championship points, and health clearances, you DON'T breed him. If you breed without these things, you are a backyard breeder just out to pimp your dog for some cash. Sad.

Yes it could happen, which would certainly not be a good thing! First your lab would hurt your schnauzer because of the huuuuge difference in size. Second, when you say that you don't think she'd be able to survive the pregnancy your right! So please talk to your vet and please please get them both fixed! It's in the best interest for your pets! Thank you!

First, test for genetic health problems known to the breed to avoid passing on bad genes. Here is a listing: http://www.simplyschnauzer.net/sshnhealth.html

First start by taking your dog to the vet for a health check and while there tell the DVM that your schnauzer needs his vas deferens removed. By doing this, you can be assured that he will not produce any inferior puppies. :)

Advertise your dog as a stud for hire. When he does get a "job," take the money from the sale of the first pup or one of the pups.
