Mormonism or Jesus CHrist Church of Latter Day Saints is the Scientology of its day.
It builds on the books of the New and Old testaments adding the Book of Mormon (supposedly the new testament given to John Smith, the founder).
Mormons espouse that spirits always existed and some pretty odd stuff science belived in the 1800's but discounted recently (like American Indians are a tribe of Jews that seperated from Israel long ago). They also were big into polyigomy (multiple wives) until Utah wanted to become a state (they dropped it when they were told they couldn't join the Union because of the practise).
Mormons also don't drink, smoke, or take in caffine.

To be brief, we believe in God the Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are:
1. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Repentance
3. Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins.
4. Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
This and more is explained by logging on to www.lds.org. You can also read all the Articles of Faith other than the few I've mentioned here.
Finally, the word is spelled Mormon, after one of the prophets on the American continent.

i don't know all the details....but mormons believe the teachings of a man named Joseph Smith that supposedly found some tablets in the USA (1800's) that claim Jesus came here after His time in Israel. He also claims to be visited by an angel that gave him instructions for a new religion. He also wrote the book of Mormon saying it was the inspired word of God. Overall they believe that Jesus was just a man that obtained perfection, an example to be followed. They also believe that as long as they follow Mormon rules they are a shoo-in to the "good" heaven where God is. If you don't abide by the rules, 2yr of missions, married among others, you have to go to another heaven w/out God and try again.

"Morman religions"????
Mormon??
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
http://www.lds.org/
Don't know much about it ... seems good "Mormons" have some good guidelines (such as no artificial stimulants, not even "soda pop", etc.)
Seems often they have great emphasis on FAMILY, etc.
Some wide differences between conventional (orthodox) Christianity and their interpretation.
For instance, traditional Christian belief is that God is Eternal,Unchanging, etc.
Isn't it true that Mormons believe that God was once a man as we are [and I don't mean in the sense of the Incarnation) and that we will become gods like He is.

I'm a Mormon and I believe in Christ and live my life according to His teachings. So that means I'm a Christian, for more info
go to the official website of our church:www.mormon.org
www.lds.org
The official name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
It's clear enough. don't bother with other non-Mormon responses, they don't know what they're talking about. Ask the Mormons themselves or their missionaries

Also referred to as the Zombie Religion. It is a term given to the brainwashed zombies that follow the mormon cult, also referred to as latter day saints (LDS). Sorry but as much as they (mormons) would like to deny it their so called 'religion' is nothing more than a backward cult. Some fellow, Joseph Smith, had an overactive imagination and a penchant for polygamy and manipulating people. He is no better than Jim Jones, L. Ron Hubbard or other similar narcissistic bloke that has cropped up ready to become the next great incarnate of something holier than thou (bla bla bla). It just so happened that he (Joe Smith) rolled in on an entire state of stupid people and was able to rope them into believing in his B.S.
Just because a lot of people believe in mormonism does not make it anything other than a cult. It is just that mormonism has become a really big cult that is nonetheless scary in its manipulative and backward belief system than it was at its inception.

Why do people ask these questions on YA? You do know that no one can possibly tell you anything about Mormonism on YA right?
Seriously, do your own research and learn the facts, not biased information from some web forum. That's why you have the internet.
