Every now and then I notice blood when I wipe, but it isnt like a lot, but enough that I definately notice it (when I look in the toilet I can't notice it tho, only on the toilet paper). And also it is not very often at all... maybe it will be there for 4 days in a row and then nothing for like a few months and then its there again maybe 2 days and not there for another few months. So far its been a few months and nothing... but I was just wondering what this is and if this is something I should be worried about. Thanks.

Honey, if you are constipated, it can cause that. Then I suggest more fiber in your diet.
If you have hemorrhoids, they can bleed from straining.
I would suggest that you see a doctor.

Salads may not be enough fiber. Get some grapenut cereal or all-bran cereal, that is good fiber. Also if you eat a few prunes(if you like them, but don't eat a whole bunch), they will help. These are natural fibers instead of metamucil or correctal.

Does it ever hurt down there? Could be a sign of hemmhroids. If it's a lighter bright red, it's a sign it's probably hemmoroids, if darker, might be more serious.
I'm sure something you're eating or drinking may have an affect on that...pay attention to that.
Also, make sure to really really clean up there.
But the best advice is to go to a doctor...
And keep in mind while it's not unheard of for people under 60 to have colon cancer, it is unlikely. So don't jump to conclusions.

If it is bright red, you probably have been somewhat constipated, and this is the result of hard feces being eliminated.

That is what it sounds like from what you described.

Happens to the best of us, usually nothing to be overly concerned with. Try a stool softener, or something like metamucil before bedtime for a while and see if the problem continues then or not.

Best wishes.

is it dark or bright red? there is a reason for each color.if it is dark it is coming from the stomach, caused by an ulcer. If it is bright in color you may have tear that is irritated by hard stools (poop).I do not think it is anything serious, so don't worry, but to be sure, see your Doctor.

I have the same exact symptoms, told my dr about it...they said it is nothing but they are going to do a colonoscopy just to make sure, because sometimes it can be something serious.

I take a medicine that makes me really constipated, so that they think is the whole problem, but better safe than sorry, right?

My uncle had this, and waited way to long. Come to find out when he did see a doctor he has cancer of the lymph nodes. Get checked out! Blood from the rectum/ one testicle being longer than the other is a HUGE sign of cancer!

more than likely it's internal hemorrhoids, which isn't too big of a cause for concern. you just need to eat more fiber. if you're worried ask you doctor, but i'm 90% sure they will say that's what it is and to change your diet. take care
