If you don't really talk, there is a problem with the relationship. However, if you just started dating and still are in the get-to-know you phase, go for:
1. common interests
2. common occurrences- same school, same teachers, same friends
3. his likes
4. politics and religion--volatile but they usually get a response
Ask him questions, people love to talk!

I would search my soul for the reason as to why you don't really talk. Do you guys have a lot in common? If so, discuss those topics that you both have interests in. Ask him how everything is at home with his family. Let him know that you are sincerely interested in whatever is going on in his life. He will open up if you really are sincere.

Sounds like you don't have much of a relationship if you don't have anything to talk about. Maybe you need to exercise your options and find someone more compatible with you. It's better to have a boyfriend who's on the same page than just having a friend who happens to be in the same room. Life's to short to blow it like that.

Not to be mean, but I would start the conversation with "we obviously have nothing in common, beacuse we don't have anything to talk about....." and see where that takes you

hey im a guy. some guys wants a girl to talk, is in our genes, mens wants to hear them blab about anything so like that we just stare at them and be horny.

you can start by asking more about things that interests him, and show that you care and you want to know more, if not, mabe you should have a serious talk about why he wouldn't open up to u.. good luck

Well you can't really get them to talk, if they want to talk then they will talk. I know what gets me and my husband going is if I talk aobut something I know he is interested in that I am also in (sex, religion, work, etc.)
