What are "tweakers"?

Question

I hear a lot about "stoners" and "tweakers", but I don't know what a "tweaker" is. I've read the Bible and the Koran, so I have a good grasp on who the "stoners" are, I am surprised that there are still so many of them around.

But as for "tweakers", I'm at a loss. When I was in basic training for the Army we had a couple of guys in the shower room that were called "tweakers" and you really had to be BOL (be on the lookout). They were not a problem for long though, they were sent off to OCS quickly, nobody else wanted to go. So are these guys still pulling their pranks but in larger numbers?

Tweakers are seekers of meth and all drugs
They seek and they shake, many are thugs
Many are scoundrels, murderers and theives
Dirt is one of their greatest pet peives
They look out the windows for hours
Stay up for days at at time
They wash and wash in the showers
But never get rid of the grime
They narc on each other
they won't do no time
They'd kill their own brother
They will do the crime
They start to hallucinate
See things that aren't there
They think it is heavens gate
But they aren't thinking clear
Why oh why do they do this drug
Can't they see it's killing them
Their own graves they have dug
I don't know why
It's sad and it's true
My ex boyfriend had to dye
I don't have a clue
He said he thought he was an angel
And God told him to
I left him that evening
all by himself
I called the police
He went in for treatment
But that didn't help
We broke up forever
On that fateful night
I left him
because I was afright
He pulled out a gun
Said God was talking to him
Thought God was the father and he was the son
That's when I left him
Said he was going to end it all with a gun
2 years later, his friends knocked on my door
Asked if I'd seen him
I asked them what for
They said he was missing
For over a week
I thought they were joking
I said to him I do not speak
I thought he was better
I don't know why
Who would of known he'd eventually dye
With or without me, didn't care
All that was left was his teeth bones and hair
The hunters they found him completely decayed
His death is a mystery I'm still dismayed
He was a wheeler, a dealer and such
Rumors they circled but didn't mean much
No one knows what happened still yet
Did he shoot himself
Or did someone make good on a threat
He was my only true love I've ever had
Meth is what killed him and that makes me MAD
Now I'm a mama, a girl and a boy
I tried to tell him that was true joy
But he wouldn't listen
to his drugs he did cling
Sometimes when I listen
I can still here him sing
I hope he is happy
Happy and clean
I can still see him
Through my daughter
he gleams
To all of you meth heads and all of you freaks
I hope someone tells on you, justice I seek
I'd rather see you in prison then dead

People who use meth or similar drugs. The stay awake all of the time, they're always jittery and they are always scratching themselves so much that they'll have sores on their arms and face. Go to a Wal-Mart at 1 in the morning. You'll see some. Never trust a tweaker.

Tweakers are poor drug addicts that use ICE. They Tweak out. Sometimes the Tweaker is paranoid. Tweaking is nasty to see. People need to be careful around a Tweaker It is a definition that describes side effects from using ICE, CRYSTAL, or METH. So horrible to see a Tweaker.
