I have horizontal and vertical nipple piercings and the only functional thing about them is that I can hang light weight objects from them and they get snagged one some types to clothing (anything lace and fishnet). They don't really change how my nipples feel or register touch, but they do look very sexy in my opinion
As far as healing goes, barbells are not the best to use, you will want to get CBRs of a diameter about 1/2" though this will vary based on the size of your nipple. Barbells for this area, will not allow room for swelling and proper cleaning and healing. (Thought the piercer above me states otherwise, I have tried healing with barbells and found nothing but trouble and others have told me this as well, 9 out of 10 piercers I know use CBRs). Remember that nipples are NOTHING like earlobes. And remember that nipple piercings take 8-12 months to heal. So you will have to be very careful with them.
As far as the breast feeding issue, I have heard of women having issues and have heard of just as many having no problems at all. I suppose that in the long run it depends on how you take care of them and it will depend on your body. I however, cannot speak from experience since I am not able to birth children.
And as a piercer, I see many women who plan to get one and come back for the other. And just as many women want both, but find the pain to be bad and they are not willing to get both. When I got mine done, I didn't think the pain was that bad at all, but my left vertical piercing was a bit worse than all the others.
If you have other questions you are welcome to ask me and I do hope you decide to get your nipples done. Good luck.

Yes the barbell is for the better when first getting the nipples pierced. Thats what most if not all shops use anyways. Yes nipple piercings can cause scarring and in most cases it always causes scaring. There is also a very good chance you loss of sensation in your nipples could occur. Some people have reported they have problems breatfedding due to nipple piercings. Not all people have those problems. Check with your local piercer to see what the stats are. They wont give you a piercing if its not right for you. Talk to them and see if you still want it after recieving the facts.

well,I have both nipples pierced and like you I'm addicted and want to get my nipples pierced again.Women when getting thier nipples done have to have a rather large ring put in at first so its balance correctly an not pulling or tearing the nipple. My nipples were done ! at a time the 2nd being done just 1 year before I had my 2nd child and I breastfed her with no problems and no scarring but the fact of the matter is all of this really depends on how well you body takes to it inside and out

I had mine pierced for about a month before I took them out. They did make them hard non-stop and if you do decide to get them done make sure its not during winter. I didnt like them at all, they couldnt be touched at all and I had to sleep in a bra....they looked really hot though, but not worth the pain if you ask me. Anyone who says it doesnt hurt is lying. I have a high pain tolerance, have had 2 other piercings and 10 tats and none of them even came close.

I understand your addiction.
Nipple piercings can actual make breast feeding easier. They do cause some scaring as part of the healing process, but in that they make the nipple more everted and easier for the baby to latch on to. Some babies have difficulty latching on with the jewelry in place, but that's a quick fix. Just take it out.
I have barbells, and they were easy to heal. You have to wear a bra, even to sleep, for quite a while.

my husband has his nipple pierced, and he did it himself. he says it hurt like he** to do it, and he has always had a ring, never a barbell. It gets cought on things if he isnt careful and still hurts (obviously) when that happens. He had already don this when we got together over 7 years ago and it is still sensitive. I would never do it after seein how much his can get to him sometimes. The only plus I can see is that it IS more sensitive.... if you know what I mean. As far as the breastfeeding thing goes, I dont know for a fact, but I would assume that it would make it more difficult since that is poking a hole right through the middle of where all that "stuff" is. If you go ahead, good luck, but I wouldn't if I were you.

getting your nipples pierced has the nearly the same risks as other peircings. i'm sure you're aware of infection rates and all that jazz, but yes there could be scaring and loss of sensation could occur. also it could effect breastfeeding. your best bet is to talk to your peircer before you get it done and ask them about past clients and any complaints about them. with whatever you chose good luck.

I don't have nipple peircings or know anyone who does (other than Janet Jackson) but it must hurt REALLY bad, and it probably will make breastfeeding difficult (but theres always formula). Good luck with your peircings!
