Why do people die?

God told Adam and Eve that if they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that they would die. Everyone inherited Adam and Eve's sinfulness, so we die too. Our only hope is trusting in Jesus Christ as our righteousness so that we can live forever with Him in heaven. Jesus took our sin on Himself and gave us His righteousness so that we could get into heaven. Cool! Thank you, God!

Because it was the physical punishment for sin (disobedience to God). Genesis 3 should explain it.

Spiritually were are separated from God.
