If i were to mention immune deficiency, what disease(s) would come to mind? I'm surveying and gathering responses so I can gauge the level of detail I need to go into when I talk about this subject.

Imumune defeciency could be acquired either pathologically or physiologically, it could be as a result of AIDS disease, which actually attacks Lymph Nodes where T helper cells are produced, causing the whole immune system to fail. Or it could result from malnutrition, where the subject lacks protein and vitamen C essential to manfacture white blood Cells. Another reason for defeciency is herditary, where the offspring has a malfunction with its bone marrow or thymus gland or bursa, making it incapable of producing white blood cells. A fourth reason of defeciency is actaully lack of exposure to pathogens, which makes the immune system "off gaurd" and producing very small amounts of W.B.C s since they are relativley "unnecessary", that's why several reports mention that swedish people are one of the most vulnerable to disease when they travel abroad, since they are not exposed to many pathogens in their own country.

Well... unfortunately the 1st thing that comes to mind is AIDS since that is actually contained within the name. However; there are many diseases that would cause an immune deficiency as well as many nutritional factors.
