If you have an open bottle but put the cap on and shake it it will go flat because the extra air within the bottle allows the carbonation to more or less disappear or evaporate. But if you shake it before you open it and let the fizziness die down before you open... the fizz stays the same.

Soda liquids are supersaturated with gasoline decrease than stress - in different words, there is greater gasoline in the liquid than it could truthfully carry at sea-point. So once you divulge it to regularly occurring atmospheric stress, the equipment tries to realize equilibrium (as all platforms do) and the surplus gasoline falls out of answer, bubbles up in the path of the liquid and escapes into the ambience till the equipment reaches this kind of element because of the fact the liquid's gasoline ability is decrease than a hundred%, effectively making it flat (except you shrink air stress, wherein case this is going to fizz back till it regains equilibrium).
