Snakes are reptiles, and according to scientific theory they could not have possibly existed around the time when "Adam & Eve" were supposedly meant to exist. From an evolutionary point of view this idea or story/legend/myth seems unlikely. Therefore I guess the snake was a trouble maker since this story has upset quite a few scientists at least today.

No, the serpent grew to become into the fallen angel Lucifer, who grew to become into jealous of God, and had to take the introduction that God enjoyed maximum from Him. So, he tempted Adam and Eve to disobey God's one rule. know-how 2:24: "yet by ability of the envy of the devil death got here into the international". Apocalypse 12:7-9: "And there grew to become right into a brilliant conflict in heaven, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels: and that they prevailed not, neither grew to become into their place stumbled on from now on in heaven. And that super dragon grew to become into forged out, that previous serpent, who's stated as the devil and devil, who seduceth the full international; and he grew to become into forged unto the earth, and his angels have been thrown down with him."

Obviously it was, as the serpent tempted Eve to eat the apple. However responsibilty falls to Eve for being so weak to actually not listen to God or even thinking for herself.

The serpent didn't speak on its own. It was used by a spirit person. Rev 12:9 identifies this person.

It really doesn't say. Christians like to say it was Satan, but Satan was invented by the Christians. Actually, the concept was invented by the Persians and copied by the Christians.
It doesn't really matter. It's just a story.
