how do you relieve the pain of cold sores?

i have a huge one in the middle of my lip and it hurts sooo bad

Well, if you can stand a little extra pain for a bit, put some cider vinegar on a cotton ball and dab it on the cold sore. It stings something fierce, but it will clear up the cold sore faster.

Abreva (not sure of the spelling) you can get it at any drugstore.
