The truth is we should pray for workers for the harvest even now. How white are the fields in your neighborhood?

Listen Up ! Read Matthew 9:35-38 from The Amplified Bible, to receive a clear understanding of the v v from the original Greek.

The answers from other people you read will be there opinion or there "special interpretation from a revelation from on high'. Simply use your God given common sense and read it in The Amplified Bible. These verses explain themselves from the Amplified Bible. You do not need others personal interpretations.

Shalom.

The Workers Are Few
35Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

There are many that need to hear the word of God and and there are a select few to go out and teach the word to people with the right motives and with the right heart.

It means that there are many people that are hungry for God's word, who need him. These people were beat down by the world and Jesus felt compassion towards these people. The people in need of God are the harvest and the laborers are the people who know God and can help spread the gospel.

He is saying that he felt compassion for the people who were lost, without God, and he told His disciples to pray to God that people would be sent to them to teach them and would show them love and compassion as well, and lead them to Jesus as thier Savior.

Harvest meaning the people, laborers meaning Gods children/disciples/believers.

There are many who need Jesus Christ in their lives, but not everyone is going out to teach them and preach the truth to them. Jesus commands his disciples to pray to God to send disciples to preach and teach the truth.
