As far as a new car goes they check all the fluid levels put in the floormats if they come with the car and sometimes they have to put the hubcaps on and then they wash the car and sweep it out and that is called dealer prep.

Air pressure tires, install wiper blades, torque wheel lugs, Install hub caps or mag wheel centers, fill windshield washer, test every electronic part for function, set radio and clock Check transmission Level check engine oil level drive it to see if it has all of the automatic gear shifts check clutch action listen for rattles check panel fit. install licence plate brackets. And bed in procedure for the brake pads. That's about it and depending on the car it takes about 25 minutes although sometimes you get one where there is something not plugged in
