my friend is 215 pounds and he wants to lose weight quickly. his plan is to lose 15 pounds in one week. please give suggestions on the types of food he could eat - he wants to limit his food to as healthy as possible with maybe 1 unhealthy snack, and each day he must have a breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks in between. what are the types of things he should eat? if he only has time to exercise 4 days in the week for 1-2 hours, how should his routine be like? please answer soon he's got a date in 1 weeks! i know its gonna be hard to lose 15 pounds in 1 week, but please give suggestions on how to get as close as possible to his goal! o and by the way he is 25 years old and is 5 foot 7.

Okay, it's going to be nearly impossible to lose 15 pounds in a week with that amount of food intake. As for meals, they should consist mostly of steamed or raw vegetables with unsalted and unoiled nuts/beans for protein. The protein shouldn't be from cashews, pistachios, or butterbeans but healthy sources like kidney or black beans and peanuts, sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds. Stay away from white starches(no potatoes). All carbohydrates should be from whole grains and there shouldn't be many of them. Snacks should be granola (without sugar or whole yogurt added) or fruit, nuts or raw vegetables (no dip!). The diet will be more effective if the first day is spent with a detoxifying diet (like a 24 hour diet of only organic fruit juices). Breakfast should be with hot water and lemon juice or hot green/white tea (no sugar or added milk) and a diet cereal (like Special K or Total). A cup of coffee would be okay if you skipped the sugar and milk. All milk should be skim. Caloric intake should be around 1800 calories or less per day. Exercise should be running (continuous) whether fast or slow for three miles or more.

I'm 45 and I have lost 25 pounds and 2 3/4" in my waist line in 31 days on a no diet weight loss plan called STACK. It only takes 15 minutes a day to use and you do not skip meals and you do not have to eat or buy special foods. It is a natural and healthy plan. I have also started drinking a natural and healthy energy drink as well that also helps in loosing weight. My first 7 pounds of the 25 lost was just on the energy drink alone and all of this has been without any exercise

It's nearly impossible and unhealthy to lose 15 pound in one week. I suggest your friend consult a physician before starting any diet. Secondly, I suggest joining a gym and hiring a personal trainer to set up a routine and teach proper form and technique so as not injure himself. Also, he may want to check out Weight Watchers (yes, there are men who go there too).

It's not possible to lose more than about 3 pounds in a week, without either doing something very dangerous for your health, or just losing water weight (which can also be dangerous).
1 pound = 3500 calories.

He could cut off one of his legs.
Seriously, your friend cannot safely lose 15 pounds in one week. Any weight he would lose through "crash" dieting is very likely to return rather quickly.
If your friend wants to lose weight safely and keep it off, the best way to do so is by expending more calories than he consumes. He should actually eat *more often*, aiming for five to six smaller meals in a day (to stoke his metabolism), being sure to eat foods that are high in protein, high in fiber, and low in fat. Cardiovascular exercise (e.g., jogging, swimming, bicycling) will also be very important.
Some of the best foods for him to eat are:
whole wheat products (make sure they're 100% whole wheat)
lean meats (e.g., turkey, chicken, salmon and other fish)
fruits and vegetables (and plenty of them)
beans
whey protein (available in powedered form)
almonds
peanut butter (all natural only)
plain oatmeal (avoid added sugars)
eggs (especially the whites)
low-fat milk, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream
olive oil (in moderation)
Avoid most fried foods, refined grains, anything containing "high fructose corn syrup", or any food that turns his fingers a different color. Best of luck!

Losing 15lbs in one week is very unhealthy and almost impossible. Through a proper diet (lower daily calorie intake) and excerise (cardio), you can lose 1-2lbs per week. If you are consistent, in 6 months, you can lose 50lbs.
