How much weight (fat and/or muscle mass) can a person gain in one week? Barring being pregnant or menstruating or suffering some other sort of malady, how much weight could an average person gain in one week or one month if they wanted to?

Tough to say. A person can only gain about a pund of muscle a month (that's with heavy lifting and lots of protein). Fat, however, can be packed on fairly quickly. Metabolism plays a big role. If you ate all the worst things at exactly the wrong time, a person of average stature could propably put on a good 15 lbs in a month.
