Good one! And consider some other grusome (cool) icons...
Hanged - a body with rope around neck
Burned - a chared figure on a stick
Drawn & quartered - four horses w/ body parts behind each
Boiled in oil - a steaming cauldron
Exposure in animal skin - vultures with flesh hanging
Flayed - a "skinless" figure
Brazen Bull - A bronze bull
Scaphism - I'll let you look this one up

Hello!! :o) YES - I probably would. IF I was the type to wear a cross around my neck. But as a Christian - I think it's inappropriate to use something as important as the cross as jewelry. Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

Yes. As a reminder of the price that was paid for my crimes that I can not pay myself. Doesn't matter if it was an electric chair, gas chamber or even a firing squad. It is not the symbol but the action that has meaning.
What if your child needed a heart and would die without is and your neighbor that you knew of but really didn't know. Their child was in a bad accident, they knew the chance of their child making it was not good so they donated their child's heart, so your child could live. How would you look at their sacrifice? Would you consider wearing a locket with a picture of their late child to remember the gift they gave to you?
It is not the symbol but a reminder of the gift. And thank you for the reminder.
I hope that you can understand why it means what it means to me.

if I did that I wouldnt have a head...but if you could build a small version that doesnt hurt (like our modern day cross necklaces) then sure. why not? as long as he still raised from the dead. with or without the head. :)

I do not think I would. Most people wear a cross for fashion. Ask one what it means to them. I know my Savior died for me on a cross.

I'm not religious, but what are some other creative ways that one could have died, and what would be the most outlandish trinket?

Jesus wasn't beheaded.
Moot point.
The Cross opens up the world...that is, points in all directions, with Christ--God--at the center.
The Tao, say, closes up the world. It points nowhere and goes nowhere but ceaselessly upon itself, with two warring factions represented on either side, in a tidy noncollision, which is anti-reality.
The snake eating its own tail is probably the most impotent of all religious symbols, in that the thing that would be real consumes itself by seeking only itself.
What is my point? Jesus died on the Cross because it was a cross. And in so doing, opened up everything.

I think Christians would- to remind them of His sacrifice. That's the reason for the cross, right?
It wouldn't look quite as . . . sacred, though, I don't think.
