low self esteem - the same reason why good guys go for bad women. I have seen a lot of it - or even just guys no matter if they are good or bad - going for bad women and not liking the nice ones saying they are boring - the same pattern as women. Sometimes its the challenge thing- they like the challenge and think that they can reform them. Trouble is - if a bad boy changes his ways and becomes good then the girl will become bored and dump him. The challenge and conflict - excitement seems to draw alot of women to guys like that. They usually look for nice guys to marry though.

I don't think that's true. Yes, many women like a bit of excitement and fireworks so the bad boys offer a bit of unpredictability and a bit of a challenge. However, really decent women will look a bit deeper and appreciate the lovely qualities in nice men and realise that in the long run they will offer them true happiness and contentment.

Because it's what we do... We can't help it!
But when we're ready to settle we know it's the good guys who will give us what we need, and you cannot change a bad boy no matter how much you try!
So with a little patience it's actually the good guys who win in the end.

same reason why many good men go for bad girls.
exactly the same thing.
Maybe cause they see something they like about them that they just cant help it liking them. Although sometimes what a good woman doesnt have, a bad woman has it. same thing for men.

because they want someone unreliable, and nasty so they can b!tch about him to their mates and complain they never meet a nice guy.. bring on the nice guy and they then say.. oh your too nice or its not that i dont like you... but...
woman are a strange species.. and regrding the answers who say good guys win in the end.. no thats women taking good guys as their "second choice" because they want stability and looked after not because they dont still want the so called exciting bad boy
we're only good enough when they have had their fun else where..and want someone to pick up the pieces or to help raise the bad gutys kids cos he's buggered off and left them in the lurch.. oh yeah.. thats when you want us "nice" dependable guys

bad guys show confidence besides nice guys dont have as much fun. but dont worry nice guys get the wifes bad guys get jail time hehehe

They think they can "fix" the problem.
OR
They have self-esteem issues, and feel that they deserve to be treated that badly.
OR
They think it's fun to be a doormat for a guy.
