I bought her Science Diet, chicken/liver entree (unknowlingly) it is meat by-product. I want her to finish it up. She like it at first, but is now scratching all over the floor when I feed it to her. I have gone as far as spraying Olivio on it, she loves it. There is 15 mg of sodium, I know, BAD, but not as BAD as 9 Lives, Fancy Feast, etc. What do you suggest? I plan on getting her started on Wellness once I finish up with this batch. Should I just get rid of it and go and buy the Wellness, one can at a time to make sure she likes it??

Why not donate the Science Diet to a local cat rescue? That way you can get your kitten started on an excellent diet (Wellness is one of the best.) and help out a good cause as well.

It's actually quite common for cats not to like the taste of Science Diet. It's a good brand, but for some reason, it's not as appealing taste wise. If you're set on using what you have, you might want to try adding some gravy (many pet stores will sell nutritional gravy you can add to dry food). You will run the risk of making your kitten even more picky when you try to go back to entirely dry food, but this is an option.
Personally, I like the idea of donating the food you have and starting over, gradually mixing the two brands (kittens have sensitive stomachs).
Wellness is a good brand to go with, but I'd recommend starting off with a smaller (4lb) bag to make sure your kitten can adapt to her new diet.
As for her not eating though, I'd recommend feeding her a set number of times a day, and not leaving the bowl down for open feeding. Start with 3 or 4 times a day and get her on a schedule. I'd recommend grabbing a book and sitting down on the floor with her, giving her 15-20 minutes to eat, then take up the food if she's not interested. Eventually, she will learn that she needs to eat when you place the food down. This seems to help out with some picky eaters, and it's also an easier way to monitor exactly how much she is eating. She may not eat every time you place the food down, but don't be too concerned. I'd invest in a digital scale that reads out down to ounces. Kittens should gain about a pound a month, so you can monitor her weight between vet visits.
Best of luck :)

Feeding your cat different kinds food WILL up set her stomach.
Find one and stick to it.She will eat it It may take a day but she will eat.
And if buy chance she doesn't take her to the vet she could have other issues.
Science diet is an excellent food remember they need salt for the digestive tract.

Maybe she's tired of the same old stuff. Try the other feline food ,one can at a time ,and mix up the ones she likes so she won't get tired of the same thing all the time.

Chuck it. We bought our cats some special "gourmet" food, and they absolutely refused to eat it. They literally stopped eating. We finally had to resort to a mix of feeding them their old food, and constant ridicule. The constant ridicule didn't make them eat the "gourmet" food either, but it felt good.

yes you should! If your cat doesnt like something it's not going to eat it! Cats are picky and there not just going to eat something they dont like! would you eat something everyday that you hated?

you shouldn't force it to eat it. it's her choice of what to eat as part of her meals. if that was happening to my cat, i'd start buying her new food!!!
