"When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic." (Dresden James)
God is not the author of confusion and I think that all will agree that religion is nothing but confusion! Religion is the method chosen by Satan, the god of this world, to mislead humanity and turn them away from God's truth. Satan's counterfeit has worked well. A little truth interwoven with a web of falsehoods. I know these comments will bring forth howls of protest. Sorry folks not my words. Read it for yourself in the bible (God's inspired word). Christianity today bears little resemblance to Christianity as it was practised during the first century A.D. They did not worship on Sunday, celebrate Xmas, Easter or Halloween. All of the so-called "Christian" holidays (holy days) celebrated today have their roots in outright paganism. God specifically instructed his people not to participate in heathenistic practises and not to even think about using their practises to worship him. God's Holy Days lay out his plan for mankind and only by keeping them can this plan be understood.

I guess that religion could be likened to government. It decides what the whole group can and can't do.
There a "state of being", when the religion doesn't rule us. We just obey God's laws without question.
In a religion, you may find alot of hypocrisy - like Sunday Christians.

Religion to me is believing in yourself, be in touch with your own "gut" feelings. I believe everything happens for a reason and, if you look deep enough into a situation, you will find that there is always some good comes from everything. You never know how much inner strength you have until you have to call on it.

It is an escape of the actual truth of Jesus Christ. It is an alternative to believe in, when one does not want to accept the truth of Jesus' death and resurrection. It is the BROAD path that is spoken in Matthew 7- and many are those who take it, and it leads to death.
Being a born again christian is NOT being relegious. Relegion is much more broad- I think many are confused by that. Jesus Christ is the only way- I believe in Him as the ONLY truth- he is the narrow path that leads to life and few are those who find it~

St. Thomas Aquinas defined religion as justice rendered to God (as opposed to justice rendered to our neighbor).
We demonstrate true religion in ACTS - *Adoration,* *Contrition,* *Thanksgiving,* and *Supplication.*
Adoration is adoring God because He is the supreme good. It is expressed in praise and worship.
Contrition is being sorry for our sins because they offend God.
Thanksgiving is thanking God for all He has given us.
Supplication is asking God for the things we need, having confidence that He is all good, all wise, and all powerful.

religion is what I believe, and what I have found to be true through my personal searchings. Nothing more, nothing less.

True religion is loving God with all your heart, mind, and soul and loving your neighbor as you love yourself (golden rule).

religion is manmade and is anti-God...God wants us to worship him "in spirit and in truth" not through rituals and traditions which are man's way of worshipping God. God wants a personal relationship, not, repetitious motions with no thought and no heart.
