You're in the right direction. Overtime, hair often becomes dryer, and that comes with a lack of moisture. By using a shampoo, like Dove Intense Moisture shampoo, you can replenish your hair, and keep it's sheen, soft, ways. By using the right hair products you can keep your hair the way it is. There are also a variety of sprays, etc, that you can put in your hair before straightening.

:) hope this helps.

Your hair will get damaged, dry, and brittle, w/ split ends (eventually) and start to break off. To help prevent this use a leave in conditioner on your hair before straightening and only do it every other day. Also have the ends trimmed more often (if your hair grows slowly have them "tip" it rather than a regular trim which typically takes off 1/4 inch or more depending on hair growth. Good luck.

First off, a couple of facts. Most straighteners pack about 375-400 watts, whereas your average curling irons only have 200 watts max. So, right off the bat, you are concentrating 375-400 watts to a small area of your hair while you pull it straight. If you only use the straightener once per segment, you should be okay. But if you go over and over it, you can cause weeks of damage within a single day. You should absolutely use a straingtening balm or oil on your hair first, otherwise you stand a major chance of damaging your hair. Other than that, just use it once per segment, per day, and you should be okay. Luck!

It's not going to dry out but it gets pretty bad. Your hair breaks off and gets thin and sickly. It'll still be soft, but it won't be big and fluffy like it is now. I straightened my hair for years and now I'm paying for it big time. My hair is broken of and split ends everywhere and it's just unhealthy. It's still really soft but I would take back straightening it everyday to have full healthy hair now.

Styling can be very damaging for the hair. It can become dried out and start to look very unhealthy no matter how hard you try to style it. Try to take a break from straightening and only do it every other day if you can.

I straighten and blow dry my hair almost everyday and its dyed. My sugestion to you is to keep moisterizing your hair well and when ever you get a chance give you hair a break and dont straighten it. Thats what I do and my hair is still very soft.

I use a flat iron on my wavy hair almost everyday. The only thing that happens to me is I get split ends. Then I just get a haircut and start over.

nothing really.
you will just get really bad split ends.
but you can do to a saloon or beauty store and get stuff to put in your hair before straightening it, and it will help prevent it.
