My mother told me that I was not "thin" and that my stomach was sticking out, although it wasn't. She constantly tells me to suck my stomach in, although my stomach is FLAT. (I am serious, it is. It will go out about half an inch and that's it.) I am 5'5" and I weigh 115 lbs. I constantly feel a drop in self-esteem when she does tell me that I am not thin, and it is hard to make me feel better. She is always judging me, but when I go to my room she immediately wants to make up, although I like to have about an hour to cool off. I think that she is lonely, but I hate how she criticizes me and judges me on what I eat. (She is a single mother). My mother is 56 and I am 14 years old so we have a big age difference. Could that be it? If I try to "talk" to her about boys, the discussion will not end well because she thinks she is right in the decision. I don't know what to do. I am an only child, but I am applying to boarding schools next year. Hopefully things will get better.

No, dear, you are not fat. You can calculate your body mass index here: http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/dnpabmi/Calculator.aspx

You may want to see if your school nurse or phys ed teacher can help you out--for example, take several BMI readings. Have them write it all down. Do some research so you can talk knowledgeably about the subject. Then schedule a time with your mother where you sit down and tell her, calmly, that it hurts your feelings when she says you're fat. Go through the BMI readings with her and explain what they mean.

If you think she is lonely, maybe you can ask you if you can schedule a mother/daughter cooking night or two each week where you make a healthy meal together or something. That way she gets to spend time with you, you help each other out while doing a task, and she knows you do eat healthily.

Hi,
I've tried all different diets, and the weight loss is only temporary. I finally tried diet pills on the market are made from Hoodia. I saw this stuff on ABC News. It's all natural and safe, and it works! My wife took it for a month and dropped 20 pounds. I took it for a month and lost about 13 (but I didn't exercise).

I bought the natural hoodia from this website: http://www.alllsite.info/free-diet-pills.php . I checked the web site address so I can post it here and I saw they're running a promotion now to get a free 2 week sample for only $4.97! I'm going to order this supply for my wife and give it to her for Christmas =)

5'5 115 is pretty thin. The minimum recommended weight for that height is 111 so you not overweight.

According to the body mass index (BMI), you are of normal weight, in fact you actually lean towards the thin side.

Your situation is unfortunate, you may wish to speak with your school counselor about this.

if ur 5'5 and 115 lbs your not fat at all... ur mom is most likely jealous with a capital "J" .... and she's just trying to make you feel bad.. for what reason i don't know, but ur mom is the one with the issues... not you... just try to ignore her and tune her out... thats what most teens do anyway when their parents say something to them...tune her out
