What can I do nice for my neighbors:
Why: they watch my dog when I'm out of town, they invite me to dinner, today one of them painted my bathroom for me!!
Who they are: a family of 5; 3 young girls, a husband an wife. They are active in the community and the kids. He likes to hunt and is handy, she is a teacher and is very creative. The kids are so nice, polite and smart.
Me: a bachelor, a regular guy who can't think of something nice I could do for them. I can't cook, I am not very handy and I lack that social gene which helps you know how to do nice things for people...
Now, they aren't the kind of people who will 'take' things in retrun, so it has to be something creative that someone like me would think of!! THANKS!!

Send them a basket with flowers and cookies with a note thanking them for being such great neighbors and telling them to think of you when they need a hand.

How about giving them a "pizza and a movie" night? I've done this for a family before -- get a nice sized basket, stick in a couple of Blockbuster video gift cards, a couple of bags of microwave popcorn, 2-liter coke, and a gift certificate for Pizza Hut. Mom can stay home with all the kids and send Dad out for the dinner and movies, and the family can enjoy a Saturday night movie night, which would probably be a little bit expensive for them otherwise.
(You don't lack the social gene--you are on here looking for something nice, that means you have the gene. It just needs a little stimulation!!)

Put together a basket and fill it with treats i.e. cookies, fruit, candy, and nuts. Put in some crayons/fun pens/ art supplies for the girls. Also, put in some small lotions from Bath and Bodyworks. The next time you have a chance to go to a game, local or pro, get a second ticket and take the husband with you. Hope that helps.

Offer to babysit their kids so they can have a nice date night just the two of them. Have a barbeque and invite them over. (you probably can barbeque most bachalors can) Giving a gift basket doesnt seem like an ideal gift to me for some reason. Invite the family to the zoo..they sound like they want some friendship.

Food is always great to give--a basket of fruits, bread and preserves, or a trip to the local bakery to have a specially made cake delivered to their home, along with a sincere thank you card would be nice.

Wow you're lucky to have good neighbors.Well if they celebrate Thanksgiving----give them a nice turkey or ham.That way they can share it with everyone.A really nice table bouquet would be nice(send it on the monday before so they can enjoy)If you really are game have a BBQ and invite them over...

offer to watch there kids for a night so they can have a night out.
cut there grass when there not home, or anything that needs done in there yard..leaves raked, toys picked up, u could wash there cars.
take the kids to the zoo, movies, theme park.
my sister has three kids, so after Christmas on one of her days off i take all the kids to the mall to spend there Christmas money, and give my sister the day to herself.

Sounds like your neighbors and you were meant for each other. Buy some great food...expensive stuff...and take it to their house and ask them if they would cook and share dinner with you. Lobsters, prime rib, etc. Bring a nice centerpiece for the table too.

You are one lucky guy. Can you get them a gift card to the local movie theater so they can take the family out to a movie? Great idea with Christmas movies coming out.
