reinstall office xp using their cd

Microsoft Office does not come with the Operating System. If you bought your computer you would have had to back up that data before un-installing then re-installing the operating system. Try going to the manufactures website (their helpdesk) and tell them the issue. The DvD containing the software should be shipped within a week depending on how soon you act.

First make sure. go to Start, Run enter word.exe. Does it come up? How about excel.exe? Next go to Windows Explorer and do a find on those file names. Once you find them, right click and Create Shortcut.
