you hit a ball with a certain club and you generally try to keep it on the fairway which is the long stretch of grass between the tee off and the green. the point is to try to hit the ball onto a green, which is a round patch of grass with very short grass. from there you use a putter, which is a club with a flat head, to gently tap the ball into the hole. to win you try to play the entire course with the least amount of hits. Each hole has par which is the average it should take you to make it to the hole. one under par is a birdie, two under either an eagle or a hole-in-one, one above a bougie, two above a double bougie, and any more than that it is just + the number. Each club has certain advantages or disadvantages to the shot you are trying to make. For example if you are trying to smack it out of a sand trap, you might use a sand wedge. A sand trap is a large hole filled with sand that it is difficult to hit out of. They are found around the green. To play you can either walk the course and carry your bag or you can ride a cart which is much more convenient but less athletic. If you slice the ball, which is when you hit it off to the side accidently, you yell FOUR! if it is going to hit somebody. A mulligan is like a do-over without penalty but they are usually not allowed. When you hit the ball you stand facing it about 1-2 feet away with your legs apart and your club behind it. then you bring the club behing your head and swing it forward. At tee off, which is the goal looking markers at the beginning of the hole, you may place it on a tee to elevate it upon initial impact. The rest of the hole must be played as the ball lies, unless it is in the water or for some other reason unhittable. In such case the ball may be picked up and dropped in a more convenient location. that's about every detail i can think of.

Golf is a sport that a few athletes Make good money playing
and a whole bunch of athletes Pay good money playing !!! It is a ruthless sport that will tear at the heart and soul of many a good athlete. But still, these same athletes give their heart and soul
to this sport. It's not the fruits of victory, or even the agony of
defeat, it's chasing that little white ball through the course of life
that matters. The fewer the strokes, the better...

Golf is a game where eveyone walks around for hours, stopping every once in a while to swing a club at a little white ball, then they walk some more, golf isn't even a sport, I don't know why call it a sport, it is a game for elderly people, or people who like to go on walks.

Golf is a game believed to have been first played in Scotland, where each player has to hit his own small ball into a hole in the ground using various types of clubs. The club is swung at the motionless ball on the ground from a side-stance. Score is kept (a count of the number of strokes required) with the smallest score being the best.

Everyone can find out exactly what golf is by watching the Robin Williams video about golf. It's on You Tube.
Simply put, golf is a vacuum for all of your time, energy, frustration, and rare joy that keeps you coming back.

Take a crooked metal stick, hit a small dimpled ball toward a little hole hundreds of yards away. Add up how many times you hit the ball before it got in the hole. Move on to the next hole. Repeat.

It's a war-game where you have completely inadequate weapons to fire your missile at a target hundreds of yards away this is almost impossible to hit.
