Depends on how long your honeymoon is. If your Hnymn is 3 weeks, I would send them right away when you get back.
For overseas I would try to send Thank You's as first priorty over local ones.

It's like a month after you get back from your honeymoon, unless the gifts were given before the wedding, then you have two weeks. However, if you've missed these deadlines, you should still send the thank-you notes. It's better late than never.

The best thing to do is handle thank-yous throughout the planning process so that all thanks yous from showers and engagement parties are sent before the wedding. Then, all you have to worry about is actual wedding gift thank yous.
Those thank yous should go out within a few weeks of returning from your honeymoon.

You do not have a year to write thank you notes. People have a year to send wedding gifts. According to etiquette guru Amy Vanderbilt, a thank-you note should be written within two to three weeks of receiving a gift - six to eight weeks at the very most. Again you do not have a year to write thank you notes.

They should be done within 2 months....having said that my wedding was August 19 and I am just finishing mine up. (before anyone chides me; I lost my job and almost our house right after our wedding so stress was really bad; thank you notes were in my mind but having a place to live was a priority..we didnt buy groceries for a month never mind stamps)

The correct way is 30 days from the date of wedding.
It is acceptable for one calendar year.
YET- most folks get offended if not received by 45 days.
So- good luck.
I made up computer labels of all the addresses and put them on clear address stickers, labeled all the envelopes and hand wrote the exact same thank you line in the text (adding the gift by name) or your special present. Attached a new address card and some received a invitation to come to our new home in 6 months to see our little "nest".

Get them sent as soon as possible - I mailed mine a week after the wedding - as soon as we returned from the honeymoon. A year later, our wedding guests are still impressed by it.

I believe the best time would be within 2 weeks of your honeymoon.

as soon as your honeymoon is over...but don't start during your honeymoon-it'll take all the fun out of it...unless that is fun for you nd your new spouse...ASAP is the right time...just make sure you do it soon enough so ppl don't have to wonder if you liked it or recieved it...
