I live in a home in which I do not pay a mortgage or rent. I need $5,000 to pay bills, etc. I have nothing I can use for collateral and I have poor credit. I need to borrow money that I can repay on a payment plan.

There are many choices for borrowing, but unfortunately, you may pay dearly if your credit is poor.

Sometimes, credit unions will give you the benefit of the doubt and will lend you a small loan. I doubt it would be $5,000, but possibly $2,000 could give you relief.

Other lenders may have a higher interest rate. Make sure that they have a satisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau.
