The Rippy family originally came from France with the name Le Sieur La Rippere. There are variations of the name spelling: Rippy, Rippey, Rippee. Ripple. The family thrived in Ireland, apparently owning several linen factories before some family members immigrated to the American colonies in the 1700's. You need to do research on ancestry websites to get information.
