Honestly Yes you can! Some artist will not do it for several different reasons. Yet there are several who will do it and have no problems doing so. Just call around to your local tattoo shops and ask or go in and ask them face to face. Chances are you will have no problems at all simply cause most Keloids (SP) form from deep wounds a tattoo does not go that deep. With any tattoo scarring can occur however. Good Luck!

I have bad keloid; two large scars I have formed from scrapes which barely bled, and a keloid the size of a credit card formed from an intramuscular injection. I asked a tattooist friend of mine his advice, and also my plastic surgeon. They both suggested that the tattoo would be quite likely to cause keloid scarring. This could make the tatt look more interesting, of course!
If you're into that kinda thing, having keloid means you can get some excellent results with tribal scarification as well. This could look quite funky.

I think you are more prone to getting keloid forming on your tattoo if you have history of it happening but in saying that I have a keloid that formed after I cut myself really deep with a razer and none of my tattoos have formed any so I think as long as you look after it, it should be ok. Try putting Vitamin E on it after the initial healing stages and that will prevent scar tissue.

I get keloid scarring from deep cuts...and I have a tatto and it is not keloid at all. A tattoo does not go deep enough to cause keloid scarring. Getting a tattoo is not cutting...it is pin pricking. Keloids come from cuts...think about the keloid scars you have, they were probably from deeper wounds.
