Nope...the juniper flavor in the gin would ruin the cosmo. You could call it another name. Who knows, maybe it might taste ok. It just isn't a cosmo anymore.
It's like saying "can I make a chocolate chip cookie with peanuts instead of chocolate chips?"

Yes ,because some people prefer gin's taste over the taste of vodka. I personally do not like the taste of vodka

1 jigger gin
1 jigger Cointreau
1 jigger cranberry juice
1 squirt lime juice
Mix over ice and strain into cocktail glass
