Unfortunately you are right, it is very sad that you mom wouldn't listen to you side, she had her mind made up and now you will no doubt have to pay for it. Dog urine goes right in to floors paint and every else, and if you mom doesn't get that she is the one that caused her dog to be put down as for her not allowing her grand kids in her house that is her decision, and will eventually be her loss. Other than that I wish you luck as I feel you are going to need it the lady is on a roll and no one knows when or if it will end

costly Why? How do you think of you're able to experience in case you rented a house or apartment to somebody who enable their puppy uninate the place ever it needed? Is there some reason you won't be able to take the dogs out for regularly occurring walks to alleviate itself? Is your dogs ill or very previous? Is there all people you are able to ask to take the dogs for walks while you're actually unable to do it? consistent with hazard if there are actually not any scientific or actual motives the dogs is doing this you should examine up on housebreaking recommendations for canines. Whats occurring now's quite unacceptable habit for any healthful dogs. Be arranged to pay to have the mess professionally wiped clean if youin case you settle directly to pass. What you're doing is thoughtless on your landlord and to any destiny tenants. LL

I think that is noble of you to suggest doghouse or crate.
You made an effort for comfort, and less damage.
Also, your mother did the unspeakable if she did this to her own lovely dog! Is she in her right mind?
Could have put Pugsy up for adoption or given to a friend.

You shouldn't have rented to your mom. What happens if you have to evict her she will just come live with you... Besides she gave you life how can you charge her to live somewhere?
anyway as for the dog situation that sucks. I think you were very nice to offer to build a dog house . I also don't think she needed to go to the extreme of putting the dog down. In my eyes she is the one that killed the dog. she has many options besides putting the dog down.
I hope everything works out and don't blame yourself for the dog it was your mom's decision. She should be mad at herself for making suck a harsh and rash decision.
good luck

The owner of the dog is responsible for any and ALL damage that the dog does...as the owner assumes responsibility for the dog...the dog should also be trained by the owner...not the landlord

No offense to you but your mother is unreasonable. Maybe you could have put down all tile floors but why should you have to. It is not unreasonable for you to not want a dog peeing all over a house you own. It is absolutely ridiculous that she is taking this out on her grandchildren. I would not want her in their lives. When she comes crawling back tell her she can not see them. Tell her they do not need anyone in their life that would yank her love away from them over anger at someone else. They are better off without her in my opinion. Seriously, if this were my dad he would be booted from my kids lives in a heartbeat. I would never stand for it. Take care.

well the dog peeing in the house is not right , it will only cost you lots of money getting the smell out of the house , as for this renter being your mom , sorry all ii can say is [ its your mom you deal with her ], as for her never wanting her grand children in her house again is a little exterme , how can she put an animal ahead of her own flesh and blood , so I guess if it were me I would respect her wishes , it is her loss , not theirs , or yours

i would tell her that i was sorry and that is was not really your fault that the dog was doing its business in the middle of the floor. you are the landlord, you make the rules around there and if you say put the dog out or say that you are gonna build a whatever, you go ahead and do it because you run that place. ifs not you fault that you make the rule. well u dont really make them, you just inforce them.

I think it was wrong for her to allow the dog to pee in the house It was her decision to choose the dog over you and good hygiene and being a responsible Pet owner.
You mother sounds controlling and manipulative. I know I have one. As for the grand kids...well if she feels so little for them so be it. She is choosing a dead dog over her grand kids.... punishing herself and not you.
