which showed that he had ethmoid sinusitis. He just came back from his family doctor and he told him that he has to go to another doctor because this condition can be fatal. He had always been diagnosed with cluster migraines so I guess my question is can all this pain and all these headaches have been this sinusitis all along? Should he get another opinion or trust what this doctor has told him? He came home pretty shaken up and confused by what all this doctor told him. Any help would be appreciated...........

I would see another doctor, take the CAT's with you, they're yours, the next doctor will want to see them. You should also have a letter from the Radiologist, he's the one that gives the diagnosis. Your doctor just reads what he says. Go to a specialist before you go off the deep end.
I don't know if this condition is fatal I've never heard of it, maybe the other doctors here can answer that.

Migraine headaches are a syndrome coming from some mysterious place on or around the head. I get them myself and take Topamax, it stops them immediately. Whether your husbands come from his sinusitis or not is a question. I think I would see a Neurologist. Good luck.

There are 3 sinuses in our body. These are the frontal, ethmoid & maxillary. Sinusitis means inflammation of any of the 3 or a combination. It is usually treated by antibiotics for 7-10 days. However, if it remains persistent, I refer the case to the ENT or Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist.

I would suggest for your husband to go to a serious acupressurist and have a treatment done against headaches/migraines. (some acupressurists don't like this because they may lose a patient and his revenue, so be discreet) This takes normally 20 minutes, with immediate results when done properly. You could just sit next to him, see how it is done, ask questions and take notes on how to proceed and do it later yourself whenever the problem occurs. There is absolutely no risk as long as you don't touch the spine and start the massage or pressure directly onto the aching spot. Work your way gradually towards it. When applying pressure, do it firmly and keep it for +- 10 sec. then release the pressure very, very slowly (count to3). There is also the acupressure point right between your eyes, at the top of your nose. I am a acupressurist in training and i am treating - very succesfully - family and friends who are generally very sceptical people. This treatment unblocks also automatically the sinuses - some people just start to cry and have a very runny nose-. This already proves that it decongests and relaxes the pressure in the head. If you want to do your bit right away, you can start with a soft massage and gradually increase the pressure over a period of 20 minutes. Put your hands on top of his head as if you are circling the tonsure of a monk's head. Massage as long as you want or until your husband feels his headache has gone. Start the massage there and gradually extend it to any direction you want to on the head going towards the neck & shoulder area. The stress settles generally in the shoulder area, at the level of your 7th vertaebra. Anyway, the point is the alleviate the pressure in the head. NEVER touch the spine. Headaches/migraines happen because your bloodvessels "spasm" that means they dilate and contract continually. This can be due to dehydration : drink lots of water, fresh fruit juice; avoid alcohol, coffee, tea. stress : try to learn some relaxing techniques e.g. deep breathing, meditation, yoga, Qi Gong; eye problem (occular migraine, squinting, 1 eye muscle weaker than the other, etc...) : see an ophtalmologist not an optician; lack of fresh air : take a walk during lunch time and at night; try to regularly air out office and home; food allergy : ask your better half to write down - NO CHEATING - what he has been eating during the day + his dinner e.g. during a 1 month period and let him cut out one specific food or food group at a time during a month or longer - I don't know how long it takes to put your body back to "neutral", to cleansen it. That way he can figure out on which specific days he has a headache and which type of food he has ingested and find out what food may be the culprit (MSG, carbs, certain fruit, nuts, chocolat, alcolhol, aspartam or any other edulcorant, coffee/tea, all kinds of fizzy drinks, etc...) cigarettes certain medication against headache give headache and dependency too. Hope this helps and that you'll get quick results. I have suffered from heavy migraines for years until i discovered acupressure and know which foods to avoid e.g. MSG, too much chocolat, champagne.

Sinusitis can be a drag. You never feel good, head hurts, body hurts...etc. Why hasn't a doctor done a MRI on him?
I had chronic headaches 12 years-everyday. It took 4 doctors b/f a MRI was ran & I was Dx w/a Brain Tumor.
It had grown to size of a tennis ball-removed in 1991.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Have you tried a dietary supplement? I know of someone who got rid of sinusitis taking a good supplement. You can write me at jade_flowershop@yahoo.com if you want to know what I take. Its MLM though.

I would definately get onto this quick, i hate to be blunt but it could be the beginning of a haemorrage. I had an uncle who had a simlilar situation and he had one when he was driving, he crashed his car and survived but died later on. I would really get onto this soon. I really hope you do, it could be a matter of life and death. I wish you all the luck in the world.
