Honey, I don't know how old you are, but I am 18 years old and engaged... my fiance is in the marines, and we are away from each other a lot! I know that it is extremely hard and he's all I think about also. We plan on our wedding being in october of 2007, because I need to finish my first year of college so I can transfer to a college where we will be living until his enlistment is over (which will be in about 3 years.)and he's also going through additional training in the marine corps, so we both have to wait until next fall. I know that it is hard, but if you love him then you need to tell yourself to do good in school and not fall behind, so you can have a good future with him. It's hard not to day dream, and it's fun to do it sometimes, just don't allow yourself to do it all of the time. Everything will work out and that year will be over before you know it, so just hang in there.

Just a small list:
Find some new friends where you are at... go out once in a while
Concentrate on something you like to do... keep doing that untill you can concentrate on something other than him.
Talk to him on the phone every day.
Keep a journal of every time you miss him... and list what spesificly you miss about him.
Physical activities (sports and such) can help relieve tension.
Hope all goes well!

I know how your feelin. I wont see my boyfriend for another 21 months and I already haven't seen him in 3 months so thats a total of 2 years. I can't talk to him or anything, our only communication is letters, but hes doin what he should be doin so its okay. Just stay busy... thats the only way to not think about him so much even if you don't want to you have to make yourself almost. Eveything will work out... good luck.

channel your energy into positive things. make him a c.d, write him a letter. exercise. focus on school. keep a journal ask him to keep one to and then you can read it when you are together.Im sure your boyfriend doesn't want you failing in school. Its ok to think about him you miss him. Send the stuff to him every week that way you are not stalking him. And remember only sick guys won't needy girls so try to show some independence.

I feel the same too. and i'm going to be away from him a year just like you! but that is not exciting, just really concentrate on you work in school. think about all the test and how you have to study. try not to think about your love life. i know it's hard but thats what i try to do and it work sometimes, but once you see a couple together you remember again. i feel the pain. try our best, good luck to me and you.

Make it a point to meet a new person every day. Soon, it will be easier to focus as it will have taken your mind off your BF.

I've been in your situation before. Just not a year.
So I know what it's like.
Atleast you have the internet and the phone.
It's important to focus on school though.
If you two are meant to be, you will be.
Just have faith in God. He has a plan for you.

Find a hobby, spend time with friends and family, and there is no harm in thinking about your boyfriend part of the time.
