I have to go into hospital in a couple of weeks to get varicose veins removed, How sore does it be? and how long before you can walk properly again? I have two young children 5 and 2, and need to be able to look after them, Any advice from anyone who has had it done.

it is very sore and very bruised when you first have it done but after a couple of days you are mobile again. varicous veins are extremely painful but once the bruising goes its fine although if the reason for the op is more cosmetic than pain relief then i wouldnt have it done as it is fairly painful at first. good luck!

When I turned 28 I already had been in pain, embarrassed, and scared of becoming pregnant. I didn't want my big blue varicose veins to get worse. The All Natural Varicose & Spider Vein Solution program was an easy read and easy to do. Within 21 days there was a big difference in how my legs looked and I can wear shorts without feeling embarrassed. I feel so much better with more energy and for giving me back a healthier body, and the legs that a 28 year old should have.

Naturally heal your veins?

My mother had this done and she only had some mild discomfort but she was walking again soon after with elasticated stocking on. Everyone's pain threshold is different but talk to your doctor who can arrange for you to have some painkillers if you need them. Don't worry about it and things will be fine. Just to cheer you up I will be having chest surgery in the next week or so and will only be in hospital over night.

Best of luck for your operation day.

my partners sister had it done and she needed a week to 10 days complete rest,it is very sore and you get really sore bruising. you wont be able to walk properly for about 3 weeks (properly) i ould definatly get some help, maybe doing school runs for the 5 year old, and a little help with the 2 yearold hope it goes ok.

How are they doing it ??? If its laser treatment I dont think it hurts at all from documentaries I saw on TV. If its the old method of pulling them out I dont think the op hurts but allow a couple of weeks in the bandages afterwards. Good luck xx

My mom had hers lasered and they completely dissapeared, no pain, no problem
with surgery, pain and recovery time depends on the incision size
and how much trauma occurs

I had it done about 13 years ago and although it is uncomfortable, it is far from painful.
