Because it's incredibly difficult to "understand" things that are completely untrue. Go ahead, give it a try. Try to "understand" that 1+1=3. Not so easy, is it?

You're RIGHT the Bible DOES have all the answers! I was wondering how the heck I should punish my son...
It was rainy and glum at our house yesterday so my son put a Dura-Flame log in the fireplace and lit it. Since it was a Sunday, and he knows he's not supposed to do anything at all except honor the Lord, what should his punishment be?
I looked it up and Exodus 35:2-3 had the answer, just like you said it would!
35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.
So I guess I'll have to kill him. Probably it'll be doubly ok because he's my first born and God seems to really like that kind of sacrifice anyway (do you think he'd mind if I kind "killed two birds with one stone" so to speak?) Since it's for religious reasons and I can point right to the place in the Bible where it says I can (nay, SHALL) do that, I guess I don't have to worry about going to jail or anything.
Get a grip. The Bible was a codification of laws and ideas during the dark ages of middle-eastern sheep herders. Some ideas are good, but most have no relevance to our world today.

Several reasons I would say.
First off, not all religions are science related, in fact almost none.
Second off, many have been very offended by the church and think they are a direct representation of the bible, so they dont think it has all the answers.
Thirdly, those with truly open hearts will come to see that perhaps there are other ways to God then just Jesus.
Forthly, shouldnt "Christians" come up with questions that are open-minded and loving instead of condemning? I dont know if you meant this question as condemning but it kind of came across that way. And I do not mean condemning in a good way. In a hate-inspired sort of way.

Why is it so hard for you to understand that your entire religion is made up?
As we know, idol worship has been around for quite some time. Idol worship was/is a Pagan practice. This first appeared with Venus of Willendorf, which dates back to anywhere from 20000 BCE or 22000 BCE.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus_of_Willendorf
Judaism, though -- one of popular Monotheistic religions -- came around in approximately 1313 BCE. Least to say, a considerable amount of time LATER than Paganism. (For those who don't, with BCE, the smaller the numbers, the more recent they are)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaism#Traditional_view_of_the_development_of_Judaism
The Torah was written after the Jews escaped Egypt. HOWEVER... the Egyptians had their own text, known as the Book of the Dead. If you examine both, the similarities are... a few too many. And the Egyptians were around there before the Jews.

In Christianity, Jesus is the main man. However, Dionysus -- who came BEFORE Jesus is the main man. However, Dionysus -- who came BEFORE Jesus -- was born of a mortal woman and a Godly father, returned from the dead, and turned water into wine. Jesus died in about 40 CE, and the Bible was written in 100 CE.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dionysus
Is it a coincidence that Zoroastrianism (a DUALISTIC religion that came BEFORE Christianity) believed in an all Powerful God and an evil spirit of violence and death, and that Christianity does as well? It's an awfully awkward coincidence.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_in_christianity
The Norse believe that after Ragnorok, there will be two humans remaining... and the Norse religion ALSO predates Christianity! What do you have to say to that, Adam and Eve?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_and_Eve
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragnorok
And the Trinity isn't even Christian! It's Pagan and Zoroastrian.

Oh, I forgot Monotheism. Monotheism originated in Egypt during 1300 BCE, by Pharaoh Amenhotep IV (aka Akhenaten). He found the God Aten to be the most powerful and only one worthy of being worshiped. Gee, why's this sound like Monotheism?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atenism
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aten
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotheism
The cross was *not* a Christian creation. Merely a thieving of the Egyptian Ankh, and then they took off the loop on the top.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankh#The_ankh_and_the_cross
Well, as you can see, your entire religion is based on other people's religions. Pretty depressing, isn't it?

do you own a tv, vcr, oven, or anything electric? Without science, none of these things would be available today. Do you take cold showers and wear shirts made of nothing but animal skins. Science helped achieve what it was meant to...progress. i believe the whole point behind our existence is to evolve as humans. that means combining logic and belief.
as for the bible...that is someone's idea for keeping the peasants in line. Research some other religions before you bash them. I'm from an alternative religion and I'll tell you something, almost every aspect of the bible is borrowed from an older religion.
for example; devil=horned fertility god of druids these things were made to look evil so that christianity would look good. they were taken out of context and mass hysteria induced. next time you take something for "gospel" truth-you might want to do your research first.

Truth never is contradictory even between the study of the True God and science. True science is not crap but a wonderful way to see the works of God. Also God Himself tells us all people are dead in sin and can no more open there heart than one in the grave can start their heart beating again. Only the grace of God to a person giving them life By His Spirit can enable them to see and (choose) Jesus. So words of compassion are in order but not harshness.

There is much validity to much of science. We can launch people into space through science, we can cure many diseases that once raveged earth. To say all science is waste shows ignorance on your part. God may have even had His hand in the discoveries that have helped us.
If you are so concerned about every body not understanding, why aren't you out on the mission field? How many hours have you spent this week in the study of God's word so that you will have intelligent answers to give to the "lost"? How many hours this week have you spent in intercession for the lost and the workers that are trying to reach them? Jesus said that if you are going to be his disciple-- then to leave everything and follow Him. Have you? I comend you for your zeal--now put some shoe leather on it, and say "LORD, here am I, send me!"
Some of "science" has not been scientifically proven and is just theory, taught as fact. This too is folly. Science is supposed to be based on observable, repitable fact with evidence to support it. There is nothing to "prove" evolution. It is a figment of people's imagination, perpetuated by the public school system, and essential says" We don't have to obed God, there is no God, we created ourselves, so let's party!" People do not want to admit to themselves or to others taht there is a supreme Being that has moral laws and that people will be held accountable for their lives here on earth. Jesus said that He did not come to destroy the Law or the prophets, but to fufill. The reason people automatically do not embrace the Bible is because the natural mind cannot understand or accept the things of the Spirit. Without having a birth into the spiritual world (not New Age) and without one's having one's eyes open spiritually through Christ, the Bible will seem like foolishness or nonsense. With the eyes of the Spirit opened (through asking for such) , one will truly see that Jesus is "The Way, the Truth, and the Life." Jesus, as you know, said "Behold, I stand at the door{of your life} and knock, if any person hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come into that person and will dine with him or her and they with me". The ancient writings tell us God says: The LORD is near to all of them that call upon His name, to all that call upon Him in Truth."

actually if you wanna know the truth it would have been easier to understand the bible if it was actual gods word and not so confusing. ive read it and i think all bibles are written diffrent. where as if you look at the quran no matter where it is, its all the same and not a single word is diffrent. it is the actual words of allah(god). and no jesus will not save you if your sinful. you will be accountable for your own sins.
seek the truth,
allah(god) willing,
you'll find it.

Sometimes Logic isn't the best answer think about this your husband or wife or child has terminal illness. They don't want to be left alone Logically they need 24 hour service that you can't provide emotionally It's ahrd to do Logic is not always the best answer. In religion if we always chose Logic Of course God won't exist becuase he is provoked through emotion Life is meaningless without emotion right? Sorry that's the third time i saw logic is best answer it's kinda irritating

Probably because in the Bible it says that all men are fallible, yet the Bible was written by men. So, doesn't that mean the Bible is fallible also? Think about it. Maybe you will open your eyes too.
