I think it gets a bit hard to describe what you have as a "dating relationship", really. After 8 months, he doesn't seem to have said, or even hinted anything about taking it to the next level. or I think you would have mentioned that. Also you used the expression "I do like him", but not anything like "I know he "likes" (or loves) me.. Seems as if he might enjoy having you for a . "sisterly friend", and there isn't any hint of any really romantic feelings going on on either side.
You moved, so I imagine he did the sensible thing and moved ON, although evidently likes you well enough to come visit, and, if I get it right, you visit him somethimes So do you stay at one another's homes or what?
These days women sometimes have guy friends, and guys have non-romantic female friends. Maybe this is the way he thinks of you, and believes that's how you see this relationship too. Best thing I can think for you to do is find a moment to, sort of light-heartedly broach the subject with him and say " Hey, I wonder what we ought to call this relationship we got going - Pals - Buddies - Dating Partners... what? He might try to wriggle round it by saying "Well, what do YOU think it is?" in which case you have an opening to tell him whether you would like it to be a boyfriend/girlfriend thing, and how does he feel about that? Then not only listen to what he says back, but watch the body language when he says it. I think you'll get your answer right there.

Well it seems like he has made up his mind. This relationship will not work if one is faithful and one is not. Long distance relationships are extremely difficult even with both members being faithful. I say, go out and test the waters. I am assuming that you are in your 20's so there is plenty of time for you to find a new love who wants only you. Stick with your schooling, an educated and successful woman is a big turn on to some guys.

When you say dating... is this a real relationship... are you calling him your boyfriend? It sounds like just a guy. If this is your actual boyfriend, then tell him exactly how you feel. That you don't feel important enough and everything.

If this is just a guy you're dating, I don't think you should be surprised that he's also dating other people.

Just let him know how you feel.

By the way, you don't have to be sexually intimate with someone to be called your boyfriend. I've been with my boyfriend for 9 months and we're saving sex till marriage.

If you really love this guy, wait, because if you get married and you wait you will have one heck of a honeymoon. But anything before marriage is adultry.

If he is your bf he should not be dating other people- forget that- and many guys think they have to have sex- but not all- I would not consider him my bf and date others- D

Depends....if you feel that he's not going to stop seeing other people and commit to ONLY you, then I would move on.
