assuming she was not a Transexual, married etc or any other abnormalities, if you become friends there's always the concern about ruining what you already have. Or failing that there is plain fear of rejection, or if she made it appear clear that she doesn't want to go further herself.

I'm not a guy, but if you really like someone you should try to be genuine with them. You want to find out how they actually feel about "YOU" and not some persona you put out there. If you get in a relationship with someone and you were not being yourself in the first place things might fall apart fairly quickly. You definately don't want a relationship to start off based on lies. So, you don't have to be apprehensive just be yourself and if things work out great, but if they don't you know it wasn't meant to be. The only thing that would make me back off is fakeness because I like a man that is sure with themselves.

If you have practically just met it would be if you were a popular girl ,maybe more b/fs than he had g/fs and he new this . If you have been going out for a while and he thought you where or you made him think you were more sexually experienced than him he may feel he wont measure up to your expectations
