I really just don't want to leave my secure job to fly across the country to attend training and fail and have to come back home to nothing... What are the test like? I know I'd have to pass with at least a 90%. What is training lilke, is everything done in groups or do you handle certain proceedures alone in front of trainers?

I agree, it varies by airline. And yes you have to do some things alone in front of trainers, you wont always be in groups. You have to be able to hold your own as a FA and be able to have control of the situation in an event of an emergency as well as passenger issues. You have to be able to memorize a lot. It's not the hardest job in the world, but you have to be someone who isnt a wall flower thats for sure. If you can pass the first fe interviews to get invited to training then you should be ok. As long as you know how to study, you can pass any test. Just dont get caught up with the FA students that are the partiers going out every night after class. Being a FA is fun if you like living out of a suit case and making low money for the first few years.

Depending on what airline you are going with, id consider the job you have now, if it is secure with good pay and benefits and if money is a big issue, Id stick with what you have now. But if money is not an issue and you just want a fun job that allows you to see the country and/or world, Id go for it. Just remember a lot of airlines FA's are union. So, make sure you understand that before you sign on with anyone. See what kind of financial status they are currently in and have been in the past. Those should weigh heavier than worrying about passing tests. If you test poorly, then it could be a crapshoot.

Is it a major, a low cost carrier, or a charter? The training is unique at every airline. Can you supply more info?
