I've been dating a wonderful man for 4 months and i would like to tell him that i love him. The thing that is holding me back is that both of our last relationships were very serious and when he and i first got together we were both skitterish around any kind of commitment. Letely we've been past that and he may actually temporarily move in with me because of some work situations for him. We basically already live together.
I don't want to tell him and him think that it is too soon (I realize we've not been together but a short time) or that it's too much commitment but i find myself almost slipping.
Opinions?
I feel like a teen again.
Oh and both of our past relationships were a while ago so no, this is not rebound for either one of us.

Thinking about it a bit more we'll have been together 5 months this Sunday which is also his birthday.

You should tell him (maybe on his birthday) that you love him. That you understand about the past relationships, and maybe he doesn't feel love for you back just yet. But that you'll wait. Because if you really love him, you WILL wait a while. So tell him that you understand if he isn't ready to totally jump in and say he loves you, but that you love him. See what that does.
Good luck, hope this helps!

If it's truly how you feel, then by all means tell him. I was really nervous this past weekend about telling my girlfriend of three weeks the same thing, but I finally went ahead and said it, and she told me that she feels the same way. Part of my hesitation was that her one previous relationship moved really quickly and ended horribly and we're trying to take things slow, so I was concerned that she might think I was saying it too soon. If it's meant to be, everything will work out fine. Good luck. :-)

If you are practically living together already and if he going to move in with you temporarily, why would you consider doing all that for someone you don't have a commit to or from. Nail this puppy to the wall BEFORE either of you sets his bags down in the house to move in. PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLEEESSSSEEEEEEE! Good luck!

It is completely natural for a female to admit her "love" quicker than a male.
My advice: don't tell him , but do things in order for you to show your love for him ( cook dinner, rub his feet, etc) .Let him admit "his love first."
Only if its absolutely, completely, necessary would I ever move in with someone after 4 months of being together.. (That's just me)

5 months isn't a very long time when you really think about it.

if you're not sure that its the right time then its not the right time. i made the mistake of telling someone too soon that i loved him and i just felt really paranoid & vulnerable... I say wait. you'll know when the time is right.

I am around 30. I would tell him what feels right in your heart. If you hide, you will never know what could have been.
Peace.
