Like anything with respect to immigration it is really difficult. The problem is the work visa. From the UK you have no problem visiting but it is hard to get a visa to work legally. I would have the same problem if I tried to work in the EU. If you marry the girl you can easily get citizenship through a fiance visa.

Sure, America is full of immigrants, some citizens, some with work visas or some with green cards. You need to get in touch with the Bureau of immigration for any and all laws/info. Best luck.

you will nedd to apply for a visa through the london embassey, if you are getting married you shouldn't find it too difficult as long as you havn't ever broken american law, you don't have a criminal record or anything like that, i think the website is londonembassey.gov. there is a visa specially for people who are going to marry an american.
hope this helps

Unless you have a highly sought after skill it will be difficult.

It would be very easy to get a fiancee visa, but you must get married within 90 days of your arrival.

I would like to encourage all citizens of the UK to come here to the US before it's too late for you there. Your quisling politicians have sold you out.

We're glad to have you but I feel bad that you are bailing on the UK,

Wouldn't your Girlfriend like to live in the UK instead?
If I were marrying an English guy, I would I would move over there in a heartbeat.

Don't bother, they will put you in jail after making you look like an idiot at the Airport. They are a superficial country. All bright lights and mirrors.

You lose your soul when you go there. Can't you see that all the Americans with brains are over here?

Like bossplw says, you have to drive on the other side of the road - & no "jaywalking" either (which is crossing where you shouldn't, or when it says "Don't Walk").
