I don't spend my time discounting anything of any religion, unless someone specifically asks my opinion upon something I do not agree with. In this case, instead of just saying, "I don't agree with it because it's stupid," I say WHY I don't agree with it, and back up my opinions with history, probability and facts.
And I HAVE already found my own path. I've been following it for several years now, and it grows with me as I learn more about the observable world.
And about free speech - it's a wonderful thing, however it only works if everyone uses it properly. Everything - even ice cream ;) - can be evil in the wrong hands. The whole reason we have censorship is because there are people out there who f*ck up free speech for the rest of us by abusing the privilege. They use it to intentionally hurt, oppress, and harass others. This is not what free speech is for. There are ways of expressing opinions that others might not agree with without doing it in a hurtful, oppressive or harassing manner.

You are making more statements here than asking questions. I would agree with much of what you are saying, except that it is very direct, and appears to be directed at the reader. Since I am the reader, and you don't know me, I find this absurd.
I was born in religion, but I'm tired of seeing the religious fighting throughout the world. Many Christians go beyond their personal beliefs, and inflict damage elsewhere. For example, some catholics tell Africans that their pre-marital sex is immoral, and they are better off with HIV than condoms. Meanwhile, the catholic church is caught in some of the most offensive sex scandals of any organisation in the world.
So, I believe I have reason to be offended by many actions conducted in the name of religion, whether it be Islam, Christianity or otherwise. You cannot kill another man in the name of God, and then be upset when others question that God you believe in.
In either case, you seem very angry, while doing your best to be civil. I'm sure you would tell me that you are not angry at all. I am also sure you have very good reason for being angry, although it may be misdirected.

It is not that I have a problem with you having an opinion because everyone has an opinion. The problem is that when you don't respect anyone else opinion and start whining because everyone is coming against you. Remember you are making an opinion, which means people are going to comment wheter you like it or not. It is find that you are a true Christian believer, but that doesn't make you right or wrong. It is all about respect.

"biased blind perceptions"
"blinds you from creating rational thought"
"stop being such a hypocrite"
"own self-conceived pride"
And you have the nerve to ask why Christians are found to be offensive? Look at how insulting you are, even in your question.
btw, I'm a Christian

I don't have a problem with the Christian who practices Matthew 6:6. I don't have a problem with the Christian who sets up a shelter for the abused or the homeless.
I have a big problem with the Christian who tries to get their morality into legislation, who tries to cram superstition into science classes, and who assumes that their religion is the only possible answer to the world's problems. I have a problem with people who seem to think that THEY and ONLY they have a clue about what reality is...especially when the world they seem to live in is so disconnected from what reality is.
As stunning as this sounds, there are other religions in the world, and there are people who are as devoted to them as Christians are to theirs. And those religions are as worthy of respect and tolerance as any other. It's only when a religion gets obnoxious, aggressive, or theocratic that problems come up.

It depends on the Christian.
I beleive in God but am a not a regular Church goer.
I have met some lovely Christians.
I have also met some horrible, narrow minded, bigotted little turds who use that name as a front for their despicable attitude towards their fellow man.
THOSE people I find offensive!!!!! This would also include the nutters in America who go round bombing abortion clinics and turning up at a gay man's funeral taunting the bereaved family with with signs saying "God Hates Fags".
For one thing, Jesus taught us:
"Judge not that ye be judged"
And they are ignoring His words.
For another thing He taught us:
"Love one another"
And they are acting like vicious thugs.
So I find people like that very offensive.
But as for decent, nice down to earth church going types who respect others and are kind and friendly to all and do not judge people, I have no problem with them at all! I only wish I could be more like them.

My government is run by Christians who generally make it their pet cause to enforce their beliefs on everyone else. See the reason why I dislike Christianity and those that follow it?
Does your pride prevent you from understanding another's point of view, or does the bible condemn you from even considering the truth found outside a bronze-age flawed holy book?
The way I see it, atheists do not blow themselves up for Allah, go on crusades and burn cities to the ground for God, or murder those that speak against them in the name of Christ. Religion is harmful, and creates little positive change.
Why not, instead of bitterly insulting stereotyped atheists, get out of your hole and actually discover your own path, rather than being led along that of others on the leash of blind faith. Your faith is discounted by your own words, not mine.

Be peaceful and take a second look @ the universe and c what can be done n help the situation, dont aggriev8 the many sufferin souls wid more of what the world needs curin of; be the cure

Mine is because most of Christendom talks about love and then go to war. They say Jesus is God when Jesus claims to be the Son of God. Things like that.
The badgering not so much because you expect that in any forum where different opinions abound.
Also the Bible predicts in the last days religion is going down, so this is a start.
