The ideal salary for a pastor is to live at the median level of their congregation.
The 3 pastors in my family all went for 3-7 years of training, and live below a financial level of most middle-income people.

The few that make the big bucks do not comprise the majority of pastors.

I am a pastor

I started a diocesan mission 10 months ago. I have no salary, no stipend, no anything...

I am blessed with some amazing people who help me with some discretionary income and a housing allowance from time to time which helps me keep a roof over my head and gas in my tank.

I promised a little over one year ago to take no salary for the first year - and the parish would decide this coming January what my salary would be, (if anything).

I trust entirely on God, and I do not provide services of Word or Sacrament for any fee.

I do a few funerals for people who have died with no pastor - I am on the chaplain's staff at the local memorial park. I get $175.00 for a funeral or memorial service.

"Spewing hate and misinformation" is a lot of hard work for no pay at all, don't you know?

it ranges from 50 thousand to around 80 thousand a year..and what they call interim, ( pastors that coming on a minutes ntoice when a priest or pastor HAS ot leave ) get paid a lot more money..and they usually have a two year contract with moving and housing expenses over and above their pay checks...
so is is like making 80 grand a year and eating and living for free for two years when your an interim, and when your a regular you make between 50 to 80 grand a year also..
not to bad I say..

smile
good luck

Everyone in our congregation (like the apostles) is a preacher of the good news. No one is paid anything.

For some it enough to support a family, drive a BMW, and support a meth habit.

I don't know a figure, but I'm sure it's not enough for all she does. Still, I've never heard her complain.
