Are you volunteering this holiday season to help those less fortunate?
A good place to start your children when my were growing up we used to go downtown to this big church where they served dinner and gave gifts to those less fortunate than others. After they opened their gifts off we'd go any age can usuallly volunteer as long as the parent is there it helped them to see that even if they didn't get all they wanted for christmas there were many others less fortunate than them and made them more apppreciate what they have it also helps to teach them to have a giving heart God bless all

wow gayle c you are religious well it seems impossible to me that noone at the free clinic appreciates what you all do but if everyones attitude is such as yours maybe they feel you look down on them if you don't like it go nurse elsewhere please just not in Columbus,Ohio. i used tio think nurses were caring compaassionate people but i've learned over the past 6 years with my husband being very ill that alot are just in it for the job and ate very unattentive and impatient with patients. some people need a helping hand and as christians it is not for us to judge but to JUST HELP!

Listen lady I have worked in a free clinic as a nurse and no one appreciates it!
We make people weak by giving into their weak ways and it only go down the line to the next generation.
Even Jesus said" I will teach you how to fish for a lifetime, but I will not give you the fish". Something like that.
My parents came from nothing and during the great depression when there was no welfare or no free handouts. They made it work because they had too.
We need to do more teaching and less giving out. My son washed is own clothes at the age of 7 and my daughter was 10. Kids can do more than we give them credit for. Even if they don't do a perfect job, that is part of learning.
My husband and I started out with nothing. We have been married for 33 yrs. and I love him more every day. In fact it was the hard times we had that made us strong.
Now that is a Christmas gift.!!!!!!!!!!
