Religion and my belief in God and Jesus is very important to me. I have tried several different religions and denominations. The church I attend regularly is non-denominational. What this means is that we believe, preach and follow the bible only. The only person we are answerable to is the Lord and not a specific person or people who tell us what to believe and what we can and can't do.
In the past, even though I believed in God and Jesus teachings, I did things my way. I was absolutely miserable and walked around with a guilty conscience about some of the things I did. When I finally turned my life over to the Lord good things started happening and are still happening. I have found peace and even though in this day and age, where there are temptations all around, it's not always easy. I know that God is there to forgive me, as long as I confess my sin and sin no more, and I know that He loves me for who I am.

I'm a Christian too, was born into christianity if that makes sense.
I don't have a view on elton john and his views. He's a homosexual, fab yeah whatever...it's got nout to do with me. But for him and pricks like him to say oooh well religion should be banned then it's like me saying homosexuality should be banned. It's what people believe in and they are entitled to their beliefs. Why should any one hate someone just because they don't think like they do? xxxxxx

On the whole I don't think labels are that helpful in religion since they don't tell you much about a person or what they are prepared to do or not do. (It might tell you what they THINK they will do, and how they would like to be).
But for the sake of simplicity I generally describe myself as a Buddhist (30+ years). Goodness comes before godness.
Going to a C of E junior school, and a Christian influenced Grammar school clearly had a profound effect.

well i've followed jesus for many years, but i truly got washed in the blood last year. my views on religion are as follows.
Jesus is the Christ. (some jews will tell you that he isn't the Christ becuz he didn't do some things the savior was sposed to do. he won't bring all the jews back to holy land until he comes back.) Jesus died for our sins on the cross, he decended to hell, rose back to earth, then went to heaven. i am waiting for the second coming of the Lord. my Christmas wish this year is that a bunch of Jews will open there eyes and realize that Jesus Christ was and IS the Saviour of all.

My view is that the bible is a book of uncanny intelligence and a frighteningly accurate perception of the development of mankind. It actually predicted te Iraq wars for heavens sake.
But I don't go to church at any time except Christmas and Easter as I would for any person that had died and meant a lot to me.
The church and the Vatican in particular are the greatest insults to Christ I can imagine. The vatican could be smelted down to end world starvation, the fact it has been erected for Hypocrites to live in excessive luxury in would make Christ spin in his grave, and likely as not jump right out of it and kick the popes teeth in.

I love poking fun at all religions, but I am pretty tolerant. I am an atheist, have been my whole life. I follow no god, godess, group of gods and godesses, or dead guys. I prefer the little voices inside my head.

I think religion has its place for everyone, whether you believe in it or not. For those of us that do believe it can see us through the darkest of times and, for those of us that dont believe, it can help those we love around us to cope with the things they find hard to understand.

Hey, no problem, I believe in God, but I don't believe in religion. The major cause of all wars in the world is because of religion.
