ummm... Are you still to get him? I think you have already had him; its just a matter of time when you tell him. But i hope that you don't take this childhood liking to be love and all those heavy words. My advice is that you better be a good friend for him first and see where the relation moves to.

'It takes two to tango'. If he imitates you, chances are he likes you, big time. Try to make him do things you could never expect him to do; he manages to imitate you with success, then you go congratulate him and ask him out. It doesnt have to be a date; just chat in the field or whatever.

Try to talk to him, by asking him for help...for example tell him you need to catch up on notes and you need to borrow his book...I think that would be a nice start....
