I don't like the first sentence. You should say:
"I was wondering if we could discuss something important, I know we are friends but through out our friendship I have started gaining feelings for you. And I don't want to ruin our freindship, but i wanted to know if you might have the same feelings for me?"
AND BEFORE you ask her this, Do you know if she has feelings for you the same way? If not you might scare her off.

yeah i think it's a great way to ask her. If you have trouble asking her of feeling nervous, practice using a mirror. werid i know but it helps. I hope you get together, who knows she may like you back. Good luck!

i think that's as honest as it can be. i think that its great that youre being straight forward. all you need now is the right place setting. lunch, coffee shop, movie... somewhere couples usually dwell.
