The book of revelations or something, talks about the "end of days" and about the return of Christ and how we'd better get our acts together before that event or face purgatory. How long can we hold out before we have to 'get religion' and save ourselves to heaven?

preferably before you die which may well be before the end of days, just to be safe.

That is so typically Christian....Are you catholic??

As an ex-catholic, I have done my Novenas (nine first Fridays of the month of confession and communion, and that guarantees me Jesus at the End of Days. I also did the Novena to Mary (Saturdays) and that guarantees me Mary. So I'm safe and I don't worry, and I'm happy. The end of days can come. lol

That has been called "spiritual capitalism" where you can "bank" favours or "indulgences" on the other side, in the "the Heavenly Bank" and you can withdraw in "tough times" or call in a "favour" in troubled times...

If you believe that the ONE (God), is so "unfair" and "unjust" as that, I can make you the "POPE" of a NEW RELIGION!! lol

As long as there is a planet revolving around the sun, there will be days. As long as there is a sun, there will be light. We know appoximately how long the sun will last and if we were smart, we would protect the environment of the planet from pollution, over-harvesting, and from possible "meteor" strikes, and that would guarantee us a few billion years with this sun.

That means that we have to "give up" on our minor tribal gods and our silly addictions of vanity, greed, lust, anger etc...all the same attributes as our gods, uncannily. It's almost as if we created the gods in the first place, and are not yet in communion with the true ONE, as in "the CREATOR".

We are becoming a "global" civilization and are still divided in our "religions" and our gods. Our economies, our societal and our social problems are much the same. Some of us in the Newer lands, have more resources but some of us in the Older lands have more OIL!!! that could wipe out the environment if we keep exposing the realm of PLUTO (the greek god of the Underworld with all of its wealth (minerals, oil etc..)) to the OXYGEN atmosphere that we need to live. In Greek mythology, Pluto is blind and gives his gifts to everyone. The lustful and the power hungry accumulate the wealth but everyone gets the diseases caused "pollution", disease, etc (the gifts of Pluto)...equally.

So the end of days, is a guess at best. If I were you, I would start now and cover all your bets while you can. The "get rich or die trying" attitude will not benefit anyone beyond the grave and should there be a ONE, I don't think that our existence is a major "deal" to IT....Wether we live or die or wether we are "believers" or not or wether we are creationists or evolutionists, is not a quandary to the ONE....The ONE as the SUN, just keeps on "rolling along" and we don't change it anymore that the ant in the back yard will change your life today...

Be a good person because that is the "right" thing to do. And you will reap the life around you of "good" people and the bad people will stay at a distance...If you chose the bad life, you will be surrounded by bad people and the good will stay away, except for the "evangelical" religious people who will try to save you with the temptation of "heaven" or the fear of Hell...

Have a good one...That was a good question...

Cyril Borg, the Cyborg..

For non-catholic Christians the Biblical "end of days" could present a dilemma. For atheists and agnostics, it's all the same. So all the believers in ANYTHING, and the non-believers alike, Do a good deed today...How about one "random act of Kindness", or a "hug"....

Jesus says: "Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father." The book of Revelation also mentions "Babylon the Great" , which is the world empire of false religion ,whose teachings do not conform to the true worship of the Almighty God. Revelation speaks of the importance and urgency to get of Babylon the Great or false religion, in other words find the true religion the one GOD approves of. Revelation 18:4 says " Get out of her , my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins". How can you identify the people who have the true religion, the one GOD approves of? By the "fruits it/they produces", does it /theyaccept all the teachings from the Bible? Does it/they have Christ as its leader, does it/they have love among themselves etc. It is NOT a matter of how long you can hold out, but a matter of WILL YOU MAKE IT BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. Look at what happened in Noahs days, only 8 people were saved from the flood , although Noah started building the Ark 40 years prior to the actual Flood and he was also preaching about the coming of the Flood and that God would destroy the wicked people of that time . But the Bible says that the people took no note , before it was TOO LATE .
My friend if you do not want to find yourself "outside the Ark " so to speak when that cutoof day occurs, it is NOT A MATTER OF HOW LONG YOU CAN WAIT , but rather HOW SOON CAN YOU TURN AROUND TO GET SAVED. The sooner the better!TOMORROW IT MIGHT BE TOO LATE!!!!!

Exactly 60 seconds before you die, but it's a good idea to have a secure ticket to heaven before the actual take off gets underway, you can secure one by repenting NOW and all you have to is take good care of it by following the instructions called the TEN Commandments. Have a safe trip. Save me a seat if you get there first.

All applications must be in by midnight 12/31 ... or is that my MIT application? I'm so confused.

And MiniMIMI, you forgot about Catholicism which allows you to keep on sinning as long as you confess your sins to the guy with the black suit and white collar that wants Little Freddy to come over for some special prayer sessions.

The Bible says no one knows the day nor the hour. Also there is no pergatory. It's heaven or hell. Sorry to dissappoint you.

But the good news is we don't have to "get religion." We need to get Jesus though. There is a difference. When you get Jesus, you don't want to hold out because there is no greater thing in the world.

There is no date given in the Bible it just says that it will come as a thief in the night when least expected the reason the exact time is not given is because:just think how many would suddenly just do what ever is necessary to save their skin, which would not be out of true Love for God and sincerity but because selfishly wanting to save themselves and as you say get their act together but what I can tell you is that the time is coming very soon and it is closer than ever before, so the time is right now, to seek out the truth from God's Word the Bible, because when the cut off time comes it will be too late, and at that time many will seek to get in but will not be able!(Revelation18:4)tells us to get out of Babylon the great (False treligion) if we do not want to share her sins, and if we do not want to share in her plagues. So the time to get our acts together is now not when it will be too latebecause the warning has been sounded for quite some time now and if we do not get to know our heavenly Father now and seek his truth we may missout on many blessings that he has instore for his faithful peoplebut instead we would share in the sins commited bt Babylon the great(False religion,THE TIME TO ACT AND GET OUR ACT TOGETHER IS RIGHT NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATEI hope that helps in your decision to search now and I would be glad to help you find God's truth! but, that is your choice which you will choose the big wide road leading to destruction or the cramped hard to do, narrow road that leads to the real life.(Mathew7:13,14)

There is going to be a resurrection off both the righteous and the unrighteous. (Acts 24:15)

The righteous include many who lived before Jesus and also includes God's servants who have died in our time.

The unrighteous ones will not be forgotten. They too will be resurrected and given tim to learn about the true God and serve him (1,000 years). This period is what the bible refers to as Judgment Day.

Does this mean that every human who ever lived will be resurrected? No God will not resurrect those whom he judges to be wicked and unwilling to change.

As to the date, no one knows except the Father.

Well whenever it is it will be after the days that isaiah prophesied about. I forget the exact words but then everyone will live to hundreds of years old. So we've loads of time. Anyhows, if you believe that Christ is the saviour of everyone who wants him then you're saved.

Right about the day Bill O'Reilly makes "sexytime" with Amy Goodman and is photographed smoking a joint with Snoop Dogg. That's the day. Really.
